BT plc Accessibility Style Changer

Description

Create a facility for the BTPlc website to enable users to change their viewing preferences and improve website accessibility.

Background

In order to conform to accessibility guidelines the client had a requirement to give users a choice of how to view the website at www.btplc.com.

Requirements

Allow users to easily change viewing preferences
Adhere to W3C accessibility guidelines
Achieve the best possible user experience within existing design limitations

Users can select from a predefined set of Font Sizes and Background/Foreground colour combinations

Project description/Technology

The system was developed using javascript and css. This involved selection and propagation of specific stylesheets depending on user settings selected through modal pop-up window.

The system is fully tested in the current version of all the major browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Safari)
