BT has won a top award for its corporate website (www.btplc.com) at the CorpComms Awards 2007. The company triumphed in the ‘Best corporate website - quoted companies’ category.
BT Group’s website was praised by the CorpComms Awards judges for being ‘very clear and well signposted’. The judging panel was also impressed by the site’s use of interactive media such as webcasts and podcasts, as well as real-time investor information. In addition, the judges highlighted btplc.com’s enhanced search facility and improved navigation which they described as being ‘very user friendly’.
Picking up the award, Ross Chestney, head of communications services, BT Group, said: “It’s a real delight that the judges seemed to recognise that we in BT Group see our website as a fundamental part of our corporate communications strategy and that we were prepared to invest time, effort and resources into getting it right.”
BT Group has been working with UniTech to deliver custom solutions since 1996. The current www.btplc.com corporate website was built and delivered using the UniTech Content Management System (UCMS) which has been used for this purpose by BT since 2001. The latest version of UCMS delivers a standards compliant website conforming to the latest accessibility standards.
